These are pictures taken at my mom's gravesite. I've always loved the color of the stone used for the headstone. The red flower arrangements were done by my Mamaw, and I think they compliment nicely the stone.
This is a drawing my mother did. From the looks of it, I think it's chalk pastels. I always love seeing things dealing with my mom, and I'm proud that this is one of several of her works displayed in my grandparent's house.
My mother apparently was an artist from what I hear, and there are many evidences supporting this fact. This owl lamp was created by my mom, and perhaps with help from my dad [though I'm not sure] in a ceramics class umpteen years ago. Here, I've attempted a thumbnail to capture this functional link to the past, but, I think this round goes to my mother.
My driving motivation has always been to make things how I want them to be. I plan to specialize in as many areas of design as possible, thereby ensuring satisfaction with the things I create. Ambitious, yes. Impossible, no.
