Love Birds

This is my Mamaw!!! I love her so much, and she's such a sweetheart! She was just fascinated that I could take photos with my computer! LOVE HER!!!!!!!!!

A Loss for Cleveland

Cleveland is a small town, and a place where everyone knows where and what and who everything is. This house, the Gable house, is located in a prime spot on Main St. right below the bridge and beside the rail road tracks. Empty for years and years, thank goodness, it was easily recognizable for a patch of turquoise-painted brick at the top of one of the gables. My personal memory of it is that it always had great Halloween decorations when I was a kid. Sadly, though, it caught fire a few weeks ago, most likely due to lightning. Luckily the fire house is barely a minute down the street. It is a sad loss, and everyone is reminded of it daily, given it's central location in the town.

I DON'T Think These Are Mushrooms

Bleh! While my Papaw was turning his compost pile, he uncovered these! It's a big, ol' cluster of SNAKE EGGS!!! We found an even dozen of them, just 15 feet from the house! They were fairly heavy, and I thought it was weird that they were so dented yet so hard. The strangest though, was that they were stuck together! Huh! But they've gone missing since their unveiling, so I can only hope that we wont have to worry about them hatching!

Snow White

These are two of my Mamaw's liriope plants that stand out from the crowd. The only few that I've seen this color, these white blooms are easy to see in the long line of common purple one's that line my grandparents' sidewalk.

Cactus Blooms

Here are a few shots of my grandmother's cactus plant. It's apparently unusual for them to bloom like this, and she has at least two shoots coming out of hers and I was fascinated by them! It's so strange that a ground-covering plant would have flowers that stand up so high!
